Yoga Nidra

A passive, meditative practice, Yoga Nidra is also known as iRest. This deeply meditative, almost hypnotic, practice will include relaxing of the physical body as well as the mind. Practitioners will train to become aware of opposite sensations in the emotions and the body. Those opposites can include tense-relaxed, warm-cool, anxious-calm, sad-happy, upset-peaceful learning to embody them with neither aversion nor attachment. With consistent practice, this unique and profound form of yoga can bring about healing from stress and trauma, and can help improve overall quality of life.

Appropriate for most levels of practitioner, this class will incorporate aspects of the trauma-informed yoga class.
